Debbie Silverstein dedicated eleven years to teaching 8th grade Earth Science before transitioning to high school Math, where she continued her career until retirement. During her time in education, she was deeply involved with her local teachers’ union, serving in every office at various points. After retiring, Debbie turned her attention to health care justice, joining the Single Payer Action Network of Ohio. Her roles in the organization included chapter representative, Regional Coordinator, and eventually State Director. Upon leaving her position as State Director, Debbie relocated to Michigan and became active with Michigan for Single Payer Healthcare.
